The Youth Polar Bear Tennis Tournament is coming up on Feb. 25 and 26, at Breton Bay Golf and Country Club, in Leonardtown, MD. Singles and doubles events are offered, using the levels format whereby players are grouped by ability levels rather than by age or gender. Players who sign up for singles may also play doubles for a slightly higher fee. Help finding a doubles partner is available. Players receive at least two matches against players of the same level.
High school players of all levels preparing for spring tennis are particularly encouraged to participate. Newer and/or younger players who can serve and keep score should also register for the appropriate group. Please note: there are no trophies for this event, due to the cost of providing so many matches and the uncertainty of which events will be filled.
Registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 16. New for this year: you may email your registration, and then pay at the tournament! A Captain’s meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Leonardtown Library from 6:00 – 8:00pm. The meeting will include a webinar with Debby Broadus to discuss rules for 2012 and to answer any questions you may have.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it and they will be added to the agenda. Please bring your laptops if you have one. Pizza will be provided, but you may want to bring your own drinks.
USTA is scheduled to release the year-end NTRP ratings by 5pm this evening. Be sure to check outTennislink later today (especially you team captains!) to see if there have been any changes!
